Wrestling Digest 4/23/01

Well to say the least it has been a while since we last had an entry in the wrestling digest. Overall I think this year was interesting - the top story had to be two 3 time state champions not competing in their senior year. Best of luck to them on their college wrestling career. If they continue to grow and develop there is little doubt they will be All-Americans in college.

Hats off to all of the State Champions this year. It is amazing what it takes to be a State Champion these days. And there can only be 28 State Champions a year. This was the year of multiple State Champions - Lisle had 3, Montini had 2, Glenbard North had 2, Providence had 2, Willowbrook had 2. Most were Seniors, who is going to be the team to beat next year????

Well until someone beats them it has to be Providence…who has a shot next year - Glenbard North has a good shot with several 8th Grade State Champions walking into that room next year. Not too mention the stable of talent they already have.
